Where are the boundaries?
Boundaries between people can be like concrete walls, or they can be as flimsy as a paper divider. Both can keep things out and and we might not recognize it, but they may also keep things in; deep feelings we are afraid of, our vulnerability, our sadness and grief…even our greatest joy.
Boundaries aren’t meant to be impenetrable; they are meant to be like a gate, opened to the chosen one, the chosen experience, the chosen moment…letting in the beauty of the experience and letting out the deep abiding gratitude of an intimate moment.
We can close the gate to that which causes us harm or the chaotic turmoil of any unwanted advances of any kind. We can keep anything that feels unsafe to us from having access to our heart by closing the gate.
Boundaries: know how to use them, your heart could depend on it!
